A year ago, individual bags of tongs would NOT have been high on the list of a sign of affection. But wouldn’t you know, it’s now a tiny detail that speaks volumes about how deeply you care about someone. Let me explain.

Julia and Kevin had a large celebration planned at the beautiful Rancho Las Lomas but postponed it until next year. Even though they’re waiting to have the full wedding experience, they still wanted to get married this year, opting for a friend’s gorgeous backyard in Newport Bay. I cannot wait to capture their full-scale wedding next year but was honored to document their intimate marriage ceremony in July.

This sweet couple made every part of their small wedding count. It was a beautiful sunny day in Newport and with only 20 guests, they made sure everyone felt safe to enjoy the day together. Because some of their family members are extremely high risk, they made sure guests were spaced out by family so everyone could keep a safe distance, and they gave every family their own bag of tongs so that they weren’t touching anything other guests were touching.

It’s those little details of that day that remind me of how big love is. I hope you enjoy getting a peek into this sweet couple.
