Okay, friends. Are you sitting down?
Take a seat. Hold the phone, literally, because I am SO. EXCITED. to share something with you.
Your girl Kelsey Albright gets to photograph Rachel Hollis’ first ever RISE Business Conference this week in Charleston, South Carolina. (INSERT ME FREAKING OUT AND HAVING ZERO CHILL.)
Let me back up. For those you who don’t know, Rachel Hollis is the author of #1 New York Times best-selling book Girl, Wash your Face, and Girl, Stop Apologizing. According to her website bio, she is a TV personality, top motivational speaker, top podcast host, CCO of The Hollis Company and mother of four. Rachel was named by Inc. Magazine as one of the “Top 30 Entrepreneurs under 30” and she is deeply passionate about empowering women in business.
Can you see why I’m freaking out?!
Aside from the fact that her business credentials are legit, she has been a HUGE influence on me and my own business. She started out as an event planner, moved into a lifestyle blog, and just HUSTLED for 15 years towards her dreams. None of these successes are overnight, and she is super candid about that because her goal is to empower OTHER women and small business owners to grow their business and reach their potential. Which is exactly why I’m a believer.
I love everything about photographing weddings. I love getting to know my clients and serving them with THE BEST possible experience they can dream up. I love making them feel safe and known, and I love being a part of their most important day. Reading and following Rachel’s work has helped ME clarify and refine my own goals and how I can best serve my clients.
Because I love my clients so much, I am constantly dreaming up of how to best support them. Rachel Hollis has been a HUGE influence on me and I am stoked out of my mind to be able to capture this event and learn from the line-up of speakers she has to offer. It’s an honor and a privilege. I believe this is going to help shape my own business to be able to best serve YOU.
And honestly, another reason I love her is because she has had her fair share of obstacles– as a kid, starting her own business in LA, and even now that she is crazy successful. Her goal is to empower people to be the best version of themselves, but because she is a Christian, she has had a LOT of negativity from people, many of whom are Christians… people who, I think, should be lifting her up and supporting her. She is using her sphere of influence to be a bright light and encouragement to EVERYONE, whether they love Jesus or not. For me, I felt like she encouraged me to wake up and pursue my dreams. She inspired me to take risks and move forward boldly with what I know to be the purpose of my life. This is in line with my belief that the God of the universe created me specifically and uniquely; her work has inspired me to see and believe that truth in a new way… and to want to do big things with that calling.
Here’s the deal: Rachel has decided to not let obstacles get in her way. Ever. And because of that she’s able to be an impact and a positive influence in literally millions of people’s lives. She has over a million Instagram followers, multiple RISE conferences a year, and she’s just getting started.
As a result, she makes a wedding photographer in Orange County believe that anything is possible. And I’m here for it. I’m here for knowing yourself and what you are put on this earth to do, and doing that to the best of your ability.
I know this isn’t a wedding or marriage tip, but it is SO important for my community to know my heart and what my dreams are. It is an honor to serve you and it’s an honor to have this opportunity to grow my skills.
I can’t WAIT to tell you all about it on the other side. THANK YOU for being a part of this journey, and thank you for letting me be a part of yours.
xo-
Kelsey
